E-Pulsive; the 20 minute workout that will leave you feeling PUMPED

...and massively sweaty!

E-Pulsive is the latest addition to Push’s lifestyle portfolio. Think personal training on another (accelerated) level. Think Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) concept.

As an agency we are so excited about representing E-Pulsive and the method behind it – which can be applied to muscle toning and building, endurance training, body fat reduction and rehabilitation.

Not only can you take advantage of one-on-one sessions at the London studio (or in the privacy of your own home) but group workouts can be booked with the team of professionals.

So what’s the vibe? 20-minute EMS workouts that flood your muscles with electrical currents as you train in special sports gear. Personal trainers demonstrate exercises tailored to your individual training goals, and fear not – they control and correct your movements throughout the session.

Trialing E-Pulsive was a totally new experience for me as I am more into yoga and outdoor running. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous beforehand, especially as I had no idea what to expect or how challenging it might be.

Having been put through our paces with a combination of cardio and full body strength exercises (10 mins of each), instructed by our personal trainer Mario, I couldn’t believe how out of breath I was. I had that achy feeling for days afterwards – but it was a good ache, the kind that means you know you’ve worked hard. During the session you get to decide the current for each exercise and it’s hard not to up the anti and push yourself. It’s only 20 minutes – so no pain, no gain right?

Would recommend doing it with a friend, not that I’m competitive much but having a workout buddy really helped me push myself. Excited for my next session now.

I was really excited about trying E-Pulsive as I had never heard of this type of fitness training before.

We arrived at the studio and were immediately welcomed by huge machines that had wires everywhere, before we knew it we were in what looked like all-one suits (not the most flattering thing I’ve ever worn) with wires attached to every muscle of our bodies.

We started with cardio movements including running on the spot, star jumps and squat jumps – and within seconds I could feel the vibrations and shocks all over my body. It is hard to explain the feeling, at first it feels very odd but I actually started to enjoy the feeling as the workout progressed. Mario, our personal trainer, definitely put us through the paces and during the resistance training part kept turning the shocks up that little bit more to make sure we got the most out of the 20 minute workout. I couldn’t believe how much I sweated in so little time.

The next two days it hurt to even sit on the loo – I could REALLY feel that I had worked out, more than I ever have after a normal gym session. I would definitely do it again, it’s fun, quick and actually works! I highly recommend.

I had no idea what to expect from this one if I’m totally honest. I love shaking up my usual fitness routine with a wild-card class every couple of weeks, so I was really excited to try this out.

I was definitely more nervous that I’d like to admit which sank in as Mario was ‘plugging me in’ so to speak, but actually it was really fun! I feel like my entire body got a vigorous workout and in a third of the time I would usually spend at the gym. You can definitely feel it but it’s more of a vibration than a shock, you can see why it works for resistance training. I honestly didn’t expect to be so sweaty after just 20 mins.

Having the option to do the class in pairs is great too, I was in hysterics for the first 5 minutes and that really took my mind off the ‘shocks’! I’ll definitely be recommending to my gym friends.
