1. Dr Erno Laszlo studied skin pathology and disease at the Royal Hungarian Elisabeth University in Budapest, and was deemed, “the father of modern dermatology”.

2. In 1925, Erno Laszlo himself healed Hungary’s Princess Stephanie’s acute acne by developing Phormula 3 – 1. He was the first person to develop products for acne-prone skin.

3. Dr Erno Laszlo was coveted by Hollywood’s rich and famous – with Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Jackie O, Cecile de Rothschild and Gloria Vanderbilt on his client list.

4. In 1977, Erno Laszlo’s Sea Mud Deep cleansing Bar was immortalised in film. In the movie Annie Hall, Woody Allen’s character is called over to Annie Hall’s apartment to kill a spider in the bath tub. While there, he sees a bar of black soap:

“What is this, you got black soap?”
“It’s for my complexion!”

5. In the 1980’s, demand for Erno Laszlo was huge. To preserve the personalised service, products were sold on a membership and consultation basis only (which had to be capped at 25,000 members).

6. In 2016, Laszlo’s pioneering heritage product (the Double Cleanse) was reinvented unveiling five concern specific cleansing duos, the collection delivers instantly visible results.
