EASTERN MYSTIC WON THE TREASURE COMPETITION!!!!
Treasure @ London Jewellery Week
11th – 13th
Victoria House, Southampton Row, London, WC1B
Eastern Mystic have won the Professional Jeweller competition for a free stand at consumer selling show Treasure as part of London Jewellery Week. They will share a stand at the show with designers Aradesi Jewellery and Zelia Horsley.
Treasure is an exhibition of the country’s most exciting contemporary jewellery designers which shows at London Jewellery Week (7–13 June) with a three-day showcase in Bloomsbury.
The shortlist for the competition was featured in the April issue of Professional Jeweller and sparked a torrent of online voting from readers of the magazine and fans of the ten jewellers shortlisted: Tina Liliemthal, Tink Jewellery, Aradesi Jewellery, Eastern Mystic, Ornella Iannuzzi, Kathryn Barry, Zelia Horsley, Lua Lua, Kirsty Davies and Milena Kovanovic.
In a desperation to propel their favourite designer to the top of the competition, some voters resorted to automated script; a tool that can be used to submit multiple votes. The discovery of the online cheating delayed the announcement of the winner by 24 hours as technicians worked to separate the genuine 7,152 votes from the total 221,583 votes registered to ensure that a fair verdict was reached.
Eastern Mystic is a new jewellery brand which launched at International Jewellery London in September 2009. The brainchild of British born designer, Sonal Talgeri-Bhaskran, Eastern Mystic delves into India’s deep heritage and invites you to explore India’s rich and exotic past, a culture seeped in history mythology, traditions and exquisite craftsmanship.
Treasure offers a sparkling opportunity for trade buyers, collectors and the public to meet the designers involved in the exhibition and find out more about the contemporary jewellery scene.
