Crabtree & Evelyn partners with the WAS Foundation

To celebrate the launch of the new Crabtree & Evelyn Bali Collection, the exploration brand has announced the start of its first give-back partnership with The WAS Foundation.

Yasyasan Warga Semesta, abbreviated as WAS, is a foundation engaged in the fields of Education, Social and Religious Affairs located in Bali. Its founder, Wayan, was inspired by the environmental impact of plastic waste left from the tourism industry, creating the foundation to improve the lives of the local community through three key areas”

Environment
The WAS Foundation works to reduce the environmental impact of tourism on the island and foster more sustainable practices. Alongside lessons in growing indigenous herbs, the foundation runs recycling workshops and volunteer-led beach cleanups to help keep Bali beautiful.

Social
The WAS Foundation provides a free safe space for the community to come together. Supported by island Gurus, the space also offers traditional wellness practices, positive guidance, meditation and healing for those that need it most.

Education
In partnership with Pondok Ga’Na, The WAS Foundation works to empower the local community through free lessons in key languages (including English and Bahasa Bali), yoga and meditation – with more lessons and teachers on the horizon.

Crabtree & Evelyn have committed to supporting this important work with a monthly sponsorship to The WAS Foundation. This helps pay staff, buy equipment and allows the team to continue their work in the community as Bali rebuilds its economy and tourism industry after the Covid-19 pandemic.
