We are excited to announce that Becky Güth has joined the #PushTEAM as Jewellery Director. We chatted with her about the best spots to shop jewellery in London and she also revealed her favourite brunch place in town.
What is your background and what are your plans or the Jewellery division at Push?
I’ve been in PR for the last six and a half years working for the likes of lifestyle legend Mary Portas, as well as large and boutique specialist agencies. I have worked with over 50 brands varying from fashion to beauty and health to jewellery. Before joining Push, I spent three years at jewellery and watch specialist agency, culminating as their PR Director.
I have totally fallen in love with the jewellery industry, and moving to Push as the new Jewellery Director has really been an exciting next step for me. Not only do I plan to strengthen and streamline the strategies of our current amazing clients, but work with the team to build the division, making it a force to be reckoned with!
What is your favourite place to shop jewellery and fashion in London?
I love shopping in Covent Garden, as it has everything from high street to high end. I always make some amazing finds when I go there!
If you could wear just one piece of jewellery for the rest of your life, what would it be?
About two decades ago, my dad bought me a Beaverbrooks white gold bracelet that I have worn every day since. I also love a good pair of statement earrings!
What are your favourite trends this year?
I’m such a ‘more is more’ girl when it comes to jewellery. Therefore I love big brooches, huge earrings and jewelled collars. Chunky chains can also look really feminine if styled in the right way!
What are your tips for buying jewellery?
Invest. That doesn’t mean you have to buy diamonds every time you shop, but independent bridge brands (ones that sit between high street and high end) always give you so much more for your money. A good pinky ring and hoops will never go out of style, so make sure your purchases are considered! Also, give vintage jewellery a chance – just make sure you are purchasing from someone reputable, because you will likely have to take their word for the composition of the piece.
What about styling jewellery?
Just have fun! The saying “less is more” definitely doesn’t apply when styling jewellery either. Layer chains, wear rings on each finger (banding), put different earrings in each ear! People seem to be less keen to experiment with jewellery, but it totally finishes an outfit. Play around and find your own individual style!
Final question. Best place for brunch in London?
Arguably Joanna’s in Crystal Palace. Their Crushed chilli avocado Benedict is to die for. Also try the Kiwi Smash cocktail – which will give you serious end of summer vibes!
Welcome to the team, Becky!
