Harries & Jones Present; the shopping experience you need to have

Push is all about supporting businesses that put the consumer first; this week we’ll be making tracks for the Harries and Jones Present shopping event.

Founders, Karen Harries and Sam Jones, have created a new exciting shopping concept that does exactly that; focus on the customer experience. Think luxury, high fashion, FUN. Intrigued? Read our interview with Karen and Sam below for details.

How did you come up with the idea for your business?

The idea of Harries and Jones came out of a conversation centred around how impersonal the shopping experience can be at times. Even with the best regarded stores offering an abundance of retail “theatre”, the physical act of purchasing can be sterile and impersonal.

We wanted to create an environment that engaged more with the shopper. Our events are all hosted in unique luxurious private environments where ladies can have fun and enjoy a drink with their friends whilst doing some shopping.

How does it work?

Each season we select 10 to 15 brands to showcase. The line-up is usually a mix of well-known and emerging brands. We invite people from our private database to preview the next season’s ranges which are usually fresh off the catwalk. Our ladies get to see a much broader range from each designer, and they also have the opportunity to personalise colours and fabrics, making the buying process much more fun.

On the night the customers pay for the goods in full, then we get back in touch a few months later to arrange delivery. Our customers love the anticipation of getting something worth waiting for.

Which designers do you work with?

A mix of emerging and well-known brands such as Osman, Eudon Choi, Isa Arfen, Tata Naka, De La Vali, Rockins, and Hill & Friends alongside more emerging brands such as the Ukranian brand My Sleeping Gypsy.

Dream designer to get on board?

We are especially loving Rejina Pyo at the moment, and Jacquemus is also original and fun!

Tell us about your upcoming event at the Hari Hotel this Thursday?

We are trying out a slightly different model for our event at the Hari. Instead of a huge variety of brands we are picking only three, but each one will have a much broader representation.

For SS18 we are bringing back Eudon Choi who was a huge success at our very first event. We are also very excited to be debuting Jerome Dreyfuss bags and our final brand is the young, London based brand, Mariana Jungmann, who create the most incredible laser cut pieces.
