Why we love America

Here are Push PR, we’ve long been lovers and supporters of the American fashion industry (as well as their delicious food – peanut butter, anyone?). As it’s the 4th of July, we thought we’d take the opportunity to celebrate just a few of the many things we love about the US and how they have made our British life better. They may have voted for Independence from us, but we still depend on them!

United States of Style

Fashion bible, Vogue, was founded in America by Arthur Turnure in 1892. The iconic monthly magazine has paved the way for high end style all over the world, and will soon celebrate its 120th anniversary (more on that in the very near future…). They may have a Brit at the helm (we love you, Anna), but it’s safe to say that this American institution continues to fly the flag for State-side style.

It’s Easy Being Green

Their flag  may be red, white and blue, but American designers such as Eileen Fisher are proving that green is the real colour of fashion by using ethical and eco-friendly production methods to make their fine wares. While the recycled fashion has become quite a recent trend in the UK, Eileen Fisher have been working to reuse fibres from discarded fabrics and reduce the amount of water wasted through the dying process for many years, all without compromising on quality or style – now that’s what we call the ‘American Dream’!

Music to our Ears

Not only is America home to many fashion greats, but their musical talent isn’t too shabby either! Just a couple of weeks ago, our beloved Hackney was rocked by the likes of Jay-Z, Rihanna, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Flo Rida and Will.i.am. The Push PR girls were lucky enough to be there, and we’ve still got their Jay-Z playlist on repeat!

Happy 4th of July, American friends! We hope you enjoy the day as much as we enjoy your many wonderful exports…
