We’ve been keeping a secret for quite some time now and at this year’s A/W London Fashion Week we were finally allowed to share it with you! Our heritage brand Tusting has been collaborating with one of London’s most highly respected and talented young designers, Richard Nicoll! On Sunday Richard Nicoll unveiled his leather goods collection in partnership with Vodafone UK and Tusting.
The cutting edge accessory fuses technology with catwalk style and means those techy fashionistas never have to worry about their smartphone or tablet running out of power when they’re out being style papped or donning the FROW of every must see catwalk!
The Kimbolton is charged magnetically by induction and the battery powered bag will then hold enough charge to power a smartphone for a couple of days! Phones are plugged into a discrete inside pocket containing a retractable cable which enables the phone to be used even when charging. A bluetooth-enabled LED charm hangs outside of the bag and acts as an indicator for incoming calls, notifications and remaining battery life. The bag can then be easily re-charged by attaching a magnetic charger to the outside of the bag.
You can also read what influential fashion blogger and founder of WIWT, Poppy Dinsey thinks of the bag, as she has been working with Vodafone throughout London Fashion Week and also received an exclusive look at the tote.
Tusting is the perfect match for Richard Nicoll, so much so that when our Push PR Becky arrived at the Richard Nicoll presentation sporting her orange Honeydone Kimbolton, Richard took the tote from her and gave it to a model to complete her catwalk look! If that doesn’t prove a match made in heaven, then we don’t know what does!

Richard Nicoll decided to take the leap to a London Fashion Week presentation this season instead of a catwalk show. Nicoll said the reason behind this change is because, ‘I want to do something economically and emotionally responsible for the business. Catwalk shows are an amazing, exciting way to present collections and while we have just secured a private investor, I want to start to focus on presenting core product in an intimate, personal and creative way for the next stage of the business’ global development, rather than being caught up in the razamataz of putting on a show.’
This didn’t stop fashion’s elite from attending the preview as we were rubbing shoulders with the likes of Alexa Chung, Net-a-porter’s Natalie Massenet, Liberty’s Head of Press, Kate Brindley and the team from The Daily!
Here are some pics of the presentation, we wouldn’t want you to miss out now would we!!
We can’t wait to snap up this brilliant bag, watch this space for more information!
