Friday Feature of the Week
#Trending- Company Magazine
The boom of twitter has got us all tweeting and trending. With 2012 being deemed as the biggest year yet for twitter, we are all looking and watching to see what’s hot and what’s not. The famous ‘#’ (hash-tag) has seen some great topics this year already, but we loved reading Company’s lowdown on the top tags.
#LFW – Is going to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest trend this February. Model @jess_stam is the girl to follow for all the insider gossip on Fashion week – we’re already a follower… are you?
#Rihanna – There is never a dull moment when reading the Rihanna trends – however you needed a magnifying glass to spot this divas secret nod to those less lovely followers of hers!
Personally, our favourite # this year is Push PR’s very own #TTuesdays… never heard of it…. Have a look! Follow us on twitter @pushprlondon and the rest of the PUSH team @pushyprummy @pushprbex @pushprkat @pushprvictoria @pushprmegan @pushprtanya @pushprmelissa @K_Marie_P
Fashionable Travel – Tatler
The multi-destination trip that is Fashion Week can cause a variety of problems from where to stay, who to fly with and where to wind-down with a cup of coffee. Thankfully, Tatler have let us in on their secret fashion week hotspots in NYC, Paris, Milan and London, so we can avoid a fashion week meltdown.
We can totally agree that the Sanderson hotel is the place to stay in London, with the quirky interiors, amazing food and perfect location. But when visiting NYC, all we need to do is book the NFW package at the Lowell Hotel, with champagne on arrival and VIP hair and make-up – phew.
Thank you Tatler, you’ve saved us.
Snapshot- Harpers Bazaar
This ‘snapshot’ feature in the February issue Harper’s Bazaar shows ‘woman of the moment’ Maggie Thatcher wearing her signature, yet understated blue suit whilst being introduced to Katharine Hamnett who is sporting a not-so-classic, but rather transgressive statement t-shirt at a cocktail reception at 10 Downing Street.
Oh how times have changed since 1984, but it’s fascinating to see how fashion was and still is a powerful statement to get thoughts across. Taken the year where Fashion Week was first introduced to London, and the year that Katharine became the first winner of Designer of the year Award, it was a controversial decision to protest against the Conservatives decision to deploy Pershing missiles through wearing a slogan tee, but it caught our attention… well done Katharine.
