Style Watch: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge
Unless you’ve been living in a cage these past couple of weeks, you would have noticed the media histeria that surrounds our favourite Royal couple, William and Catherine. After hearing that the Duchess planned to go her trip with no stylist other than her hairdresser, Richard Ward, we were more than curious to see whether her style icon status would stay in tact or be revoked.
The Royal Tour proves that Kate knows what she’s doing when it comes to dressing and we’ve been tracking her progress, favouring a equal mix of designer and high street brands. We give you, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and her ever envious wardrobe (and hair, *sigh*).
What difference a flight makes. From a simply classic LBD and blazer combo, accessorised with Manolo’s and a Mulberry, of course, to an on trend lace Erdem number with nude heels.
A fan of recycling her wardrobe, Kate (we can’t quite get used to being so formal with her title) donned her Reiss dress, which she also wore for her official engagement portrait. We love the contrast of neutral and brights, perfect for Canada day.
Kate then changed to a gorgeous violet Issa dress for the evening events during Canada day. The maple leaf diamond encrusted broach was loaned to her by Queeny herself.
During their trip to the Canadian War Museum, the Duchess chose a grey Catherine Walker dress with seventies colar detailing. Matching the dress with a grey suede clutch was a risk that paid off, by choosing a different material, Kate saved the outfit from being too ‘matchy’.
Keeping up with the elegance was this Joseph dress she chose for her arrival on Prince Edward Island. We are starting to wonder whether Kate should be styling her husband, as this seems to be the only suit he’s worn so far…
Another Erdem dress from the Pre-A/W collection 2011-12. Accessorised with nude pumps and clutch, along with that ring…
Coming back to British fashion, Kate chose her wedding dress designer, Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen as her outfit of the day whilst meeting well wishers. Is that a different tie we spot William, or is it just our eyes?
How you know when a style icon is born? When they can make even a Nike tracksuit top look good. During a more casual day full of activities, including rowing against Wills, Kate wore a Nike top with her favourite J Brand skinnies and boat shoes.
Wearing those skinnies and boat shoes again, the Duchess opted for a khaki shirt, keeping on trend.
Not quite the outfit you’d want to play hockey in… Kate donned this Malene Birger dress and paired it with her favourite shoe brand LK Bennett.
The Duchess looked stunning in this primrose yellow Jenny Packham dress. This designer has been one of Kate’s favourites of late and it seems the aesthetics of the designs fit her personality well.
Stepping out in cowboys hats and jeans, Kate styled it up with an Alice Temperly printed blouse. We can’t help but laugh at how amused Wills looks. He was heard saying to his wife, “it’s so nice to be in jeans!” Yes, well you could have brought more than one suit…
Kate paid tribute again to the Canadian’s by wearing this red Catherine Walker coat dress and the Maple leaf broach when she and her husband left Canada.
Stepping off in sunny California, a fresh faced Duchess chose Roksanda Ilincic for her arrival piece. Prince William on the other hand chose, well the same suit (we love you really Wills).
In a stunning green DVF dress, Catherine and William attended a private reception at the British Consul-General’s residence, Los Angeles.
In another stunning Jenny Packham dress, Kate attended the Polo with someone that looks like William, but he’s wearing something different! Jokes aside, doesn’t Wills looks dapper here?
The Duchess looked breathtaking in this Alexander McQueen gown for the BAFTA’s. We heard that J-Lo was in attendance, good job Pippa wasn’t there, otherwise there may have been a ‘booty off’.
Kate chose Whistles for the launch of Tusk Trust’s US Patron’s Circle in Santa Barbara. We love how in awe Reese looks here!
The couple look like they are having a ball on their Royal Tour, with Catherine never failing to be quite so overwhelmed by the amount of well wishers. Keep cheking back for the latest looks in the Duchesses wardrobe!
